ONE-DAY ORIENTATION PROGRAMME ON HISTORY SYLLABUS FOR THE FOUR-YEAR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME (FYUP)

On the 23rd September, 2024, the Department History, Lady Keane College hosted a One-day Orientation Programme on History Syllabus for the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) under NEP 2020 in the College auditorium. The purpose of this orientation Programme is to equip the teachers about the different components of the History curriculum to ensure comprehensive coverage and in-depth exploration of each paper as well as the question setting pattern. The program started with an introductory speech from Dr. A. M Shangpliang, Head of the Department of History who welcome the participants followed with a welcome address from the Principal Dr. D.K.B. Mukhim who also felicitated the resource person Prof. Aparna Mathur and Prof. Tejimala Gurung Nag Head Department of History from North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong. A total of two sessions was held whereby in the first technical session the syllabus of the current 3rd semester was discussed and the second technical session was focused more on paper setting and queries of the college teachers was put forward to the resource person. A total of 31 participants from different colleges in and around Shillong participated in the Programme. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. M. Jyrwa. Certificates were distributed to the participants. They benefitted from the program and suggestions were also put forward by the participants that in the near future such orientation programmes should be held for the benefit of the history teachers.
